Fame has come at a price for Gemma Collins – £500 to be exact.
The former Towie star has revealed how much she spends a night on a security guard to allow her to leave the house safely.
Gemma, 41, confessed to previously feeling like a ‘recluse’ due to her fear, which she has spoken about in counselling sessions.
‘I was getting reclusive but I wasn’t depressed or anything, but I was like, “Oh no, if I go out it’s going to be hassle”,’ she began.
Speaking to Robbie William’s wife, Ayda Williams, on her Podcasts from the Edge show, the GC continued: ‘My friends then get asked to take loads of pictures, then I get really bad anxiety about it and then I’d end up staying at home and everyone would come to me, I live in the country now, I moved way out of it all.
‘Rami’ll be on a date and we’re just about to go in for a kiss and someone will be, “Can I have a picture?”

‘And then you feel bad, and you don’t want to be horrible because they’re your fans, so it’s a whole mixed emotions.’
Gemma added that her therapist has previously reminded her that she is allowed to politely decline pictures with fans if she doesn’t feel like taking them.
However, the reality TV icon said she will always stop to talk to younger fans.
It’s understandable why the former Celebrity Big Brother star is on edge a lot of the time, given that she experienced a terrifying ordeal while holidaying in Mexico.

A few weeks back, in her GC podcast, she encouraged listeners to do their ‘research’ while looking for holiday destinations.
‘I went to Mexico once and was going out for dinner, when I came back my room had been robbed,’ she shared.
‘It’s really scary because you are abroad. Always make sure you put things in the safe.’
Gemma couldn’t stress the importance of safety enough, also urging fans to lock their suitcases while on the move because ‘you never know.’

‘If someone sees me checking in at an airport, they’re probably thinking, “There’s a Louis Vuitton there, I’m gonna swipe it”.’
She added that she always keeps her agent in the loop with her location when she’s in the UK.
