Gary Lineker and Piers Morgan are amongst the celebs slating England’s performance following their 0-0 draw against the USA.
Gareth Southgate’s guys went head-to-head with the United States in their second World Cup game in group B.
Alas, despite smashing it out of the park previously against Iran, England didn’t quite deliver a spell-binding performance, with neither team scoring a single goal.
Leading reactions, Lineker branded the team’s performance ‘poor’ while broadcaster Morgan pleaded with manager Southgate to ‘do something’ as the game fell apart.
‘Poor performance from @England, but that happens at a World Cup at some stage,’ Lineker began.
‘The big question, even with such a talented bunch, is whether the manager can change things positively with his tactics and substitutions when it’s not working.’

His tweet came after, mid game, the former professional footballer noted that Southgate had made some ‘interesting substitutions’.
Southgate changed things just before the 70 minute mark, brining on Jordan Henderson and Jack Grealish for Jude Bellingham and Raheem Sterling.
Meanwhile, former Good Morning Britain host Morgan labelled England’s performance ‘c**p’.
After kick off, he tweeted: ‘England look increasingly ragged & sluggish. Need to raise our game & tempo.’

A little while later, the former Life Stories host wrote: ‘This is c**p. Do something, Southgate – fast’, while starting to lose faith.
Morgan also asked: ‘Has all the virtue-signalling sapped our energy?’, after being rather vocal with his views regarding LGBTQ+ rights in Qatar amid the tournament.
He previously ripped into the BBC and hailed the network ‘disrespectful’ after the broadcaster failed to air Qatar’s World Cup opening ceremony on its main channels.
While public figures are busy blasting the England team’s performance, footie fans have kept their sense of humour, after previously joking that whoever lost in England vs USA would have to ‘keep James Corden’.
Following the miserable result, Twitter users questioned whether the Late Late Show host now has to be ‘split in half’.

‘The 0-0 draw means that under the rules James Corden has to be left in the middle of the Atlantic in a dinghy,’ one joked.
‘Following tonight’s draw, England and USA have agreed to send James Corden to Canada,’ tweeted another.
