Gangs of London has been confirmed for a third chapter to which fans have hailed ‘the best news ever.’
The gritty drama features a star-studded cast, including Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù and Joe Cole, with season 2 following the aftermath of the collapse of the Wallace family’s criminal enterprise, seeing new mob bosses The Investors step into their shoes with the help of brutal villain Koba (Waleed Zuaiter).
The first season broke records for having the highest body count for a drama, and was even more wince-inducing than any episode of Game of Thrones.
Sky dropped the news on social media that the British crime drama will be back for a third chapter.
‘News just in, gangsters… #GangsOfLondon series 3 is confirmed,’ they tweeted.
And of course, fans were absolutely living for the announcement: ‘F** yes’
‘I REJOICE!!!’ another added.
‘Literally the BEST NEWS!!!!’ a third person wrote.
Skins star Joe previously told Metro.co.uk that he had originally signed a one-season deal for Sean but as season 1 progressed the team felt he had more to tell.
He explained: ‘He was going to commit numerous atrocities across London and then get his just desserts at the end.

‘But as we moved through the story and the arc during filming there were these quiet conversations about perhaps leaving it a little more ambiguous.’
After deciding to leave an open ending, Joe said the team warmed to the idea of his return as ‘as an attempt of an epic surprise and something fun for the fans’.
The second installment began with the death of Alex Dumani (Paapa Essiedu) with actor Sope saying he was ‘furious’ about the shock death.
