The Guardian – Fury in Commons forces speaker to apologise over Gaza vote chaos’

The Guardian leads on the row over the chaotic parliamentary debate on Gaza, saying the Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle issued an “unprecedented” apology.

The paper says the “fury” of MPs forced Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle to apologise for the fractious debate. The main image is of a woman surrounded by Palestinian flags during a protest calling for a ceasefire outside Parliament.

“Some are now trying to unseat Hoyle while others are urging the Conservatives to ignore common practice and stand against him at the general election.”

The front page also has a story saying that the breakdown in public order in Gaza caused by Israel’s bombardment has led to fears of a famine.
