Pakistan’s controversial former prime minister has reportedly been injured in a shooting at a rally.
Gunmen opened fire on a political event, according to his supporters on social media and local news outlets.
It is said to have happened while he was leading a convoy of his supporters towards Islamabad in support of his campaign to return to office.
The former cricket international was forced to quit earlier this year but has attempted to mount a comeback.
A picture has also surfaced purporting to show former minister Faisal Javed Khan bloodied and receiving medical treatment.
According to reports Mr Khan sustained a gun wound to his leg while near the city of Wazirabad but is alive.
There has been no official confirmation of the incident so far.
