Former Neighbours actress Madeleine West has bravely opened up on being sexually abused as a child.
The 42-year-old star from Melbourne, who played Dione ‘Dee’ Bliss and Andrea Somers on the soap, wants to share her story to help others suffering, having kept it private for decades.
Madeleine has now claimed that the alleged abuser lived in the same town as her, and she suffered ‘many, many times’, sometimes daily.
She has not yet revealed any other details of the attacks or named the alleged abuser.
She said: ‘This monster ruined my life. I’ve come out the other side, yes a survivor but happy to own the title of victim.
‘Justice can be achieved. It was never, and never will be, your fault, you are not to blame.’

Madeleine continued to News Corp: ‘I’m now seeking justice. Anyone out there who is posting, watching or hurting a child, your time is up. The wheel is turning.’
This comes as the star launches her podcast Predatory with ex-detective Gary Jubelin to shine light on the issue.
The eight-part series, in which they will speak to child sex crime detectives, calls for a national public child sex register and other changes in laws to compensate victims.

Madeleine added to the publication: ‘Paedophiles are exceptionally calculating and they will get what they want.’
She also said that other people ‘consistently turn the other way’, and it can be ‘very difficult’ for people to believe that the abusers are ‘close to their inner circle’.
