Floyd Mayweather Jr says he has no interest in an exhibition rematch against Ricky Hatton.
Mayweather and Hatton met in an infamous Las Vegas showdown in 2007 with the Briton stopped in the 10th round of their WBC welterweight title fight.
The American retired from professional boxing with a record of 50-0 but has recently been immersing himself in money-spinning exhibition matches, the latest of which pits him against YouTube star Deji in Dubai on 13 November.
Hatton meanwhile is making his own return to the ring this weekend, taking on fellow former ring legend Marco Antonio Barrera in Manchester.
‘The Hitman’ talked up a possible reunion with Mayweather this week, telling Sky Sports: ‘I’d have a look into it. To share the ring with Floyd Mayweather again would be something else.’
Responding to Hatton’s comments however, Mayweather said he sees little appeal in running it back.
‘When do it for fake when we did it for real?’, the former five-weight champion old a press conference.

‘Ricky Hatton – the great thing about me and Ricky Hatton is that at that particular time Ricky Hatton was at the top of his game. And I’ve always been at the top of my game. We were able to come together and give the fans all around the world excitement.
‘Ricky Hatton is one hell of a champion, he’s a UK legend, and I think that was 2007. In 2007 we gave the world what they wanted to see, action.’
Mayweather’s exhibition against Deji has been organised and promoted by Global Titans, with CEO Uday Singh hopeful further fights with the boxing legend can be delivered in the coming months.
Rematches with Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao are two options that could be pursued.
‘Floyd is a businessman,’ Singh told Metro.co.uk. ‘For him, and he mentioned this in the press conference in Las Vegas, that if we are talking a real fight, a minimum purse of $100million, if that’s on the table I think that will be a real possibility. But we will have to ask Floyd if he is ready to fight Manny.
‘But there are great names out there. Conor and Manny, we all want to see those rematches. But again, once a promoter puts that kind of money on the table, I think that is possible.’
