Fiorentina are holding firm on their valuation of Sofyan Amrabat despite the midfielder underlining his desire to move to Manchester United, according to reports in Italy.
Despite bringing in Mason Mount in a £55million deal from Chelsea, manager Erik ten Hag is still believed to be keen to bolster his midfield options further – though for now his priority is securing a new goalkeeper in the form of Inter’s Andre Onana.
Amrabat is a player he has admired for some time and the pair actually worked together at Utrecht, with the Dutch coach in the dugout for the Moroccan’s breakout season back in 2015.
He has gone from strength to strength more recently and shone at the World Cup, reaching the semi-finals, while he was a key player for Fiorentina en route to the Europa Conference League final last season.
Barcelona boss Xavi is also thought to be a massive fan of Amrabat and has been linked with a rival swoop, while Atletico Madrid are also credited with interest.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Amrabat has made it clear he wants to leave Fiorentina and is only prepared to play in either La Liga or the Premier League.
He is keen to test himself at a higher level and would jump at the chance to play in the Champions League, while he is particularly keen on a reunion with Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Fiorentina are willing to sanction a move but only if their asking price is met, with the Viola initially asking for a fee in the region of €35million (£30m).
With no offers of that size forthcoming, they have now dropped their valuation to €30m (£25.6m) – though are not prepared to go any lower than that.
Fiorentina are in a relatively strong position even though Amrabat’s contract expires in the summer of 2024, with a clause in his deal meaning they can trigger a one-year extension.

The Italian side are already planning for life after Amrabat and have set their sights on Bologna’s Nicolas Dominguez as a replacement.
Any concrete move from United is likely to happen later in the window, with the club first working on a deal to sign goalkeeper Onana before then moving on to securing a new number nine.
Ten Hag had wanted Tottenham frontman Harry Kane to bolster his attack but United were quickly priced out of a move and they are currently trying to secure a deal with Atalanta for young Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund.
