A former Miss Universe representative beauty queen who represented Uruguay at the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants has been found dead in a Mexico City hotel room.
Police officers found the woman in a bathroom at the hotel, which is located in the centre of the Mexican capital.
She has been identified as Fatimih Davila, 31 and her Instagram account in Davila´s name said she had been working as a model in Mexico.
South American stunner Fatimih Davila Sosa, 31, won her country’s beauty-pageant title in 2006 and had currently been working as a model, according to her Instagram account.
A 2012 Spanish-language book, “Dreams Broken” — an exposé on sex trafficking — quotes Sosa discussing her career as a high-priced escort with her agent and alleged pimp José Miguel Acosta.
She’d go on to testify in the case.
Sosa was by her own admission a top earner, according to wiretapped conversations cited in the book.
It is the latest in a series of crimes targeting foreign women in Mexico.
Mexican authorities have broken up numerous sex trafficking rings in recent months. The women are generally promised jobs such as modelling, then kidnapped and forced into prostitution.
There have been several cases of such women being murdered.
