Got a crush on a Capricorn?
There are some things you need to know about dating this special star sign.
Capricorn is the tenth sign of the zodiac, a cardinal sign (born at the start of a season), an Earth sign (ruled by the practical element of earth), and governed by Saturn (responsible, serious, diligent).
Capricorn’s astrological symbol is the sea goat. I don’t have a lot to say about that as I don’t honestly know what the heck it is. Go figure. A very random symbol, for sure. Maybe the quirkiest thing about the Cap gang.
Capricorn is serious, hardworking, practical, ambitious, status-driven, loyal, determined, persistent and strong. The goat will keep on climbing long after the faster, flashier, more talented competition has bit the dust. Capricorn enjoys outlasting all others. It’s a point of pride.
Capricorns are drawn to earning, improving, progressing, building, and securing. They like to make robust plans with stretching goals and then work their butts off to reach them.
They are typically good earners, enjoy saving and investing, and (with what’s left) live the good life. They are not party poopers or killjoys (as long as they can afford not to be) and have a secret dry sense of humour.
Capricorn personality traits
Capricorns are great partners and friends, and colleagues and family members too actually, because they do what they say they will and they are ultra reliable and loyal. They don’t cut corners, let you down, backstab or belittle you. They might tell you off or let you know they disapprove, but they will always have your back if they love you.
Ruled by Saturn, they tend to be born mature, ready for responsibility, knowing and shrewd about how the world works and how to make it. They are stoic and strong, patient and durable. They set themselves very high standards and are one of those signs that can suffer low mental health because of inner critical self-talk. Caps have to learn to love themselves unconditionally.
A cardinal sign, they are they are proactive and self-motivated too. They naturally see what needs to be done (in fact they look for it by default, like the zodiac’s eldest child, eager to impress) and get it done. You don’t need to tell them twice, in fact you probably don’t need to tell them at all, they already saw it (and did it).
Capricorn’s achilles heel is their insecurity and self doubt. They have impossible expectations for themselves, across pretty much every life area (but especially home, status and work), and this can cause real anxiety and low mood. They can withdraw, go silent, brood, and beat themselves up. They need sunny, positive, uplifting people to help boost them.

Deal-breakers for a Capricorn
Laziness, slovenliness, idleness, carelessness (all the ‘nesses). Caps work hard and respect others that do the same, whatever the outcome.
They value graft and tenacity, they like to see ambition and drive. They couldn’t (or would struggle to) last with someone who was content to drift along, doing the bare minimum, or lived a hedonistic lifestyle.
Capricorn’s love language
Capricorns are ruled by Earth so they will demonstrate their love in practical, tangible ways rather than declaring undying love for you in words. And actions speak louder than words anyway, right?
They will defrost your car window in the morning, bring you a cup of tea, make the bed, buy you the thing you’ve been secretly coveting, pick your parents up from the airport etc. They believe in helping out those they love.

Capricorn’s compatible signs for love, sex, and romance
Other Earth signs- so fellow Capricorns, as well as Taurus and Virgo. This crowd are all practical earthy people who like to live well, work hard, be good people and invest in their home and families.
Their opposite sign (the sign they’re magnetised by in love) is Cancer. They are enthralled by Cancer’s imagination, passion and loving nature. Cancer is everything they kinda’ put a lid on, so a bond there helps them to discover and express new parts of themselves.
What you can expect from a relationship with a Capricorn
A very happy, secure, and even luxurious home, a strong and loyal family base, a safe and secure financial future with someone you can rely on 100% and who will help you to live life well.
I hope I haven’t made Capricorns sound too dry or serious, because they do love to have fun, they love to live it up. They just want to make sure they can afford it first!
This is no bad thing. My partner is a Capricorn, I can vouch for their wonderfulness as a long term partner.
They will make your life easier, better and more fulfilling. They will help you find your best self and encourage you in everything you do.
