Evan Peters wants some ‘good’ to come from his controversial Jeffrey Dahmer series.
The American Horror Story actor, 35, was lauded for his performance in Ryan Murphy’s Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, picking up a Golden Globe on Tuesday.
Accepting the award for best actor in a limited series, Evan thanked AHS creator Ryan for ‘letting me be part of your brilliant vision again’ as Dahmer became one of the most-watched limited series in Netflix’s history.
However the series proved controversial, having been heavily criticised by the families of Dahmer’s victims and accused of ‘glamorising’ the murders by the serial killer’s father
Evan appeared to address the controversial side of the series during his acceptance speech on Tuesday night, admitting it was a ‘difficult one to make, a difficult one to watch.’
He added: ‘But I hope some good came out of it.’

The acclaimed actor went on to thank the ‘incredible cast and crew and directors’ who worked on the series, calling Dahmer ‘a colossal team effort.’
‘Everyone gave it their all and I would not be up here without them,’ he said, paying tribute to his loved ones who ‘picked me up when I fell and carried me to the finish line.’
Also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, Dahmer was an American serial killer and sex offender who murdered 17 boys and men between 1978 and 1991.

Dahmer was convicted of 16 murders and sentenced to life in prison back in 1992, before being beaten to death by a fellow inmate in 1994.
Elsewhere at the Golden Globes, Dahmer creator Ryan – who is also behind the likes of American Horror Story, Glee and The Politician – was given the Carol Burnett Award which recognises outstanding contributions to television.
