A mansion from the Escape to the Chateau spin-off Chateau DIY has hit the market for the same price as a flat in London.
Narrated by husband and wife duo Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree, the couple provided help and advice to the owners along the way in the series Chateau DIY.
With the labours of their work now up for grabs, a prospective buyer is set to snap up the property, which seems like a bargain when compared to local offerings.
The sprawling mansion was one of those featured on the Channel 4 reality renovation series, which followed British families renovating châteaux in France, or looking at ones to purchase.
Based in Saint-Maixent-l’École in the west of the country, the chateau is on the market for £724,916.
While that could comfortably buy you a one or two bedroom flat in most parts of the capital, by comparison the chateau spans 15,000 sqm and has an impressive nine bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

It also has its own fully licensed vintage tea room, a bed and breakfast suite and a British food store.
As the listing reads: ‘Recently restored, this beautiful residence is a magnificent family home while offering a wealth of options for a special events/accommodation activity’.
‘The Château is already well-known locally and further afield due to its starring role on Ch4’s Escape to the Chateau DIY.’

Outside there is a small lake with water-side wooden pavilion, as well as a self-contained apartment, stables, cowshed, barn, and hunting lodge, so clearly the new owners can be kept busy with a range of activities.
After spending nine seasons having their chateau renovations captured by cameras, Dick and Angel presented Chateau DIY from 2018, with the third and most recent season airing earlier this year.
The couple initially paid £280,000 when they bought the dilapidated castle that spurred their series Escape to the Chateau, which has 45 bedrooms, 78 windows, 12 acres and one moat, back in 2015.

However, they recently announced their show would be ending after their huge ‘family journey’, which they reflected that they ‘never could have imagined what would unfold’.
Not to fret though, they have been working on another series, currently titled Secret France.
Escape to the Chateau is streaming on Channel 4.
