Enjoy the UK weather this weekend because wind and rain are on their way
Most people across the UK will be enjoying a fine weekend – but this will all change as we enter the new week.
We’ve got the jet stream to thank for our current pleasant weather as it has split into two branches, one near northern Scotland and one near southern England.
Their placement means most rain over the weekend has fallen either across the far north of Scotland or in France, with a weak ridge of high pressure between the two giving the majority of the UK warm and dry conditions.
Patchy cloud and a few showers are predicted across the weekend, but temperatures should be near average for the time of year, with highs of 24°C in central England and lows of 14°C in northern Scotland.
