Could we really see him again? (Picture: ITV)
One Emmerdale character whose return is always a subject of speculation is Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln).
While the villainous Jamie was believed to have died when his car crashed into a lake, his mother Kim (Claire King) got confirmation back in September that he was actually alive and had been living not far away with his daughter Millie (Willow Bell).
After attacking Millie’s grandmother Hazel (Kate Anthony) and pushing her down the stairs, Jamie went on the run and was last spotted leaving the country.
While Kim has washed her hands of her son, another character whose life would be hugely impacted if Jamie was to return would be Gabby (Rosie Bentham), the mother of his son Thomas. And, according to Rosie, she would most certainly not welcome the havoc that a returning Jamie Tate would bring.
‘I think Jamie returning would be chaos,’ she told us.
‘There are a lot of things unsolved from when he was here. A lot of hurt would come back up for Gabby, because he left. She thought they were getting married and he was playing her. I think it would cause a lot of chaos and with Kim as well. It would certainly rock the boat at Home Farm and whose hands Home Farm would be left in after that I don’t know. Gabby is hoping that it’s hers, so we’ll see what happens.’

With Gabby about to be appointed Kim’s deputy at Home Farm, it’s clear that she wouldn’t welcome the competition that Jamie would bring. Gabby sees herself as Kim’s successor so the last thing she’d want would be Jamie showing up to reclaim his place.
Gabby has also moved on from Jamie emotionally, with a nice little flirtation going on with Thomas’s nanny, Nicky (Lewis Cope), as Rosie explained.
‘Jamie, bless her, that was a whole whirlwind of emotions, but I think that book is closed for her now,’ she said. ‘She’s trying to move on, she’s not out there looking for guys, but one comes along, which she really gets along with.’
