The Dingle family is being marred by tragedy once more in Emmerdale next week, with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) getting devastating news, and Aaron (Danny Miller) going too far in his war with Cain (Jeff Hordley).
After having her diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer confirmed, Chas struggles with how to process the news.
Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is there for her and eventually she opens up to Lydia (Karen Blick).
But before long, her ordeal consumes her.
Meanwhile, out of control Aaron is relishing winding up Cain during his crime spree and, when he goes even further, a violent fight ensues.
The stakes are higher that ever as the red mist dawns – and Aaron is given the opportunity to kill Cain…
Monday January 22
Chas receives a call confirming her hospital appointment for that afternoon.
Liam, her only confidante, is thrilled when she asks him to accompany her. At her appointment, Chas learns she has triple negative cancer and, back home, vents to Liam about her diagnosis.
Although she does her best to be brave, it’s clear she’s struggling. She makes Liam leave her alone as she fights to retain her composure. Once he has gone Chas finally allows herself to break down and cry.

Rhona is moved to see Marlon bonding with Ivy. She confesses about her conversation with Gus and tries to justify her actions, but Mary advises her to prepare for Ivy’s departure.
Moira’s pleased to think Tracy’s put her affair with Caleb behind her but Tracy and Caleb just can’t keep their hands off each other and she can’t resist his advances.

Charity is attempting to get back to normal, so when Moira checks in on Charity in the pub, she pretends she’s beginning to cope..

Tuesday January 23
Paddy drops off Eve and he can see something’s wrong with Chas but she covers. Later that day, Lydia also realises there is something wrong, and finally Chas opens up to her while Liam eavesdrops from the Woolpack corridor.
Although relieved to hear her talking, it’s bittersweet as he realises that he’s no longer her sole confidant.
Tracy and Caleb continue their affair while Nate feels neglected.

Aaron arrives at the garage with another stolen car, seemingly flaunting his antics. Amused, Mack warns him it won’t end well when Cain finds out.
Later, Cain is rattled by Aaron, causing tension between them, and Mack feels caught in the middle.
Mandy offers to help Ella prepare for her interview at the surgery. Later, a triumphant Ella returns and the pair continue to bond over drinks and village gossip.
Marlon lives in the moment as he admits to Mandy that he’s smitten with Ivy.
Wednesday January 24
Nate offloads his relationship worries onto Belle and when Tracy utterly misses his romantic lunch, he is suspicious. Bumping into Belle, Nate confesses he’s concerned about Tracy and Caleb.
Nate’s paranoia gets the better of him as he rifles through her phone and discovers deleted messages to and from Caleb.
