Priya is haunted by her past (Picture: ITV)
When Priya (Fiona Wade) danced at Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Rhona (Zoe Henry)’s wedding in an outfit that revealed the scars on her back in Emmerdale last year, it seemed that she was finally putting the horror of being burned in the maze fire in the past.
But in coming episodes, a frightening event makes her relive her trauma all over again.
She’s at a Take A Vow event, and when a bridal veil catches light on a candle, Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) is quick to put the flames out. What she doesn’t notice is the effect the incident has had on Priya, who is absolutely overcome with fear.
She rushes off, but is tracked down by Jai (Chris Bisson) who understands that Priya is once again suffering from the after-effects of the fire.
The fire was started accidentally by Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale), who was attempting to defend herself from murderous Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) by setting off a flare gun which set fire to the maze. Neither of them had any idea that Priya was inside the maze ready to present a trophy to the winner of the survival challenge.
Following the fire at Take A Vow, Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) and Jai both try their best to help Priya, who’s struggling.
