Marcus’ days in the eponymous village are numbered (Picture: ITV)
Emmerdale’s Marcus Dean is reportedly set to leave the village, with actor Darcy Grey having left the role after just a year.
Darcy, who made his on-screen debut last February, is said to have already filmed his final scenes, with a source for the ITV soap saying that Marcus’ time on the show ‘came to a natural end’.
Marcus arrived in the eponymous village following the news that his rapist father Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) had died in prison.
The electrician soon settled in and started a relationship with Ethan Anderson (Emile John), who assisted him with legal issues upon his arrival.
There have been turbulent times for Marcus and Ethan in recent weeks, with the couple at odds following Marcus and Naomi’s (Karen Peter) attempt to catch out sex abuser Greg, who previously made a pass at Marcus.
Marcus will attempt to put things right in scenes set to air this week, with he and Ethan going on a date. Things, however, don’t exactly pan out as one might’ve hoped, with the date ending in disaster.
Naomi, meanwhile, drags him away for a night of their own, but subsequent scenes see he and Ethan patch things up, as Ethan assures his beau that he does want them to find a place together.

But Marcus is unaware of a shifty Ethan receiving a message from a mystery man. The question is: just who is the message from?
That remains to be seen, but things take another turn when Marcus spots Ethan getting into a stranger’s car.
Is everything as it seems? And will this spell the end for the couple and thus prompt Marcus to leave the village?
