Kim is in the dark – but not for long (Picture: ITV)
It’s a secret that Emmerdale fans are desperate to see explode but, while Caleb Milligan (William Ash) has a bit more plotting to do yet, the soap’s boss Jane Hudson has revealed that Kim Tate (Claire King) is about to discover the truth.
All hell is bound to break loose, with Jane confirming Kim’s discovery will seemingly be only a matter of weeks.
At the moment, Caleb has the wool pulled over her eyes as she cons her into investing in a stud farm that doesn’t exist.
The secret son of Frank Tate, aggrieved Caleb feels like Home Farm and the money surrounding it is rightly his.
He is working with his son Nicky (Lewis Cope), who is posing as a nanny and the fiancé of oblivious Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), to fleece Kim.
As weeks go by, we will see Caleb become more and more ruthless, even drawing in his own family as collateral.
‘There is still something else to find out which I’m not going to tell you, but not all of the secrets have been revealed yet,’ Jane told Metro.co.uk.
‘There is going to be somebody from Nicky’s past who turns up as well and we will be left wondering what this means for Gabby.
‘We know they’re planning a wedding – is that going to go off? Is it not going to go off?
‘Super Soap Week traditionally has a stunt in it, but we are still at the very early stages.
‘We’re in my dream head state at the moment. But it will be brilliant because it always is!’
Given the building tension at Home Farm, we’d be amazed if it wasn’t Tate-centric. And honestly, disappointed too.

‘And meanwhile, how is Cain going to react when Caleb nearly sends Moira into financial ruin, which is a whole other story that’s playing.
‘When Cain finds out his brother is responsible, how on earth is that going to play out when these brothers are working so hard to try and have some sort of relationship. Is it all about to be doomed?’
Crossing Kim Tate is the thing most likely to get you doomed, so what kind of timescale is Caleb looking at before he ends up facing his enemy’s wrath?
‘Soon! Very soon,’ Jane smiled. ‘It will be after the coronation but before Super Soap Week.’
Super Soap Week is an ITV coined term for an autumn set of episodes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street which are typically event led – think motorway crashes, flying caravans and sinkholes.

It’s already at the forefront of Jane’s mind.
‘I was working on it late last night with my producer, and we started getting a bit giddy with ideas and started messaging each other!’ she explained.
‘Then I woke up at 3am having had a dream that somebody was trying to break my neck and I actually jumped up in bed. I keep a pad next to my bed and a pen, and I thought I’ve got to write down some ideas.
‘Nobody’s getting their neck broken but I was just in that world of going stories, something’s happening… so at 3am I was scribbling!
