Emmerdale actor Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield, has welcomed a beautiful baby girl.
The star had announced they were expecting a bundle of joy with her wife Kate Brooks, who produces the soap, when they appeared on Loose Women together earlier this year.
On Thursday, Michelle revealed on Twitter that she had given birth to their adorable tot, who they have named Betty Brooks.
She shared a picture of Betty strapped in a car seat wrapped up in a wintery blanket, and a black and white snap of Betty next to her in a hospital bed.
Michelle captioned the post: ‘Introducing Betty Brooks to the world! Betty made a cheeky early appearance on Tuesday 15th November weighing 5lb 10ozs. We all love you so much our beautiful Betty B.’
Friends flocked to comment on the wonderful news, with actor Lisa Riley writing: ‘Yipppeeeee!!! Congratulations to you all…Betty is going to be loved beyond words, especially by her big bro Teddy. Cannot wait for snuggles…..Betty Boo so 1976.’
Journalist Lucrezia Millarini penned: ‘Many congratulations – what a beaut! x’, while Lizzie Jones said: ‘Awww congratulations she’s beautiful xxx.’
Betty is baby number two for the happy couple, who married in 2019 after meeting on set, and she’ll be a little sister for Teddy.
The pair have previously spoken to OK Magazine about their first pregnancy, explaining that they embarked on IVF for Michelle to conceive Teddy.
They went through a scare a few months into the pregnancy but Teddy was born safely on October 9 2020. Announcing the little boy’s birth on Instagram Michelle said: ’On Friday 9th October, this handsome little chap entered the world. Edward “Teddy” Peter Brooks we are so in love with you.’
Michelle will be leaving the soap with her exit recently being revealed as rather low-key. All we know is that Vanessa ‘finally makes a decision about Canada.’

Possibly she’s about to get an exciting job offer, or maybe she’ll decide to go travelling with Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) and get away from the drama-filled village for a few months.
