How does it feel to be on the receiving end of a Twitter burn from a world-famous historical landmark?
Elon Musk will know – he’s just received the online scorn of the one and only Eiffel Tower after playing fast and loose with his new multi-billion dollar buisness venture.
The dig came after Musk had just been ratio’d by a prominent French streamer called Arkunir.
For those not in the know, being ratio’d is when a reply garners more likes and retweets than the original tweet. And, as self-proclaimed Chief Twit and boss of the entire platform, Musk is possibly the biggest target to get ratio’d so far.
But what made it even better was when the official Twitter account of France’s signature monument stepped in to back up its countryman.
The account posted a meme comparing Arkunir to the Eiffel Tower and Musk to the much, much smaller Parisian Statue of Liberty – a replica of the famous one in New York City.
We’re not sure how Musk will react to the sleight, if at all.
Then again, he could impose a new rule banning international landmarks for making fun of foreigners.
In the current topsy-turvy world of Twitter, anything’s possible.
