The i reports, citing Tory insiders, that an economic upturn will not be enough to save Rishi Sunak from defeat in the polls. The newspaper quotes one government insider as saying that using the economy as a campaign tool is “not working” among local voters.
Elsewhere, the front page reports that Tehran has vowed a harsh response to the attack on the Iran consulate building in Syria. A top Iranian general was killed in the Israeli strike on the building – along with six other people.
