Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) was horrified in EastEnders after police warned her that if she fails to reveal the identity of the father of Lily’s (Lillia Turner) child, they’ll have no choice but to take the 12-year-old away.
Lily, as viewers know, discovered she was pregnant on New Year’s Day after she ended up in hospital following a carbon monoxide leak at No.31.
Stacey was stunned by the news and, due to Lily’s age, the authorities were notified, with an investigation subsequently commencing.
Lily later confirmed to Stacey that the dad was Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day), but she urged her mum to keep this information to herself. Stacey vowed to do so, but later discovered that she’d have to go back on her word after a telephone call from social services.
Monday’s (January 9) edition of the BBC One soap picked up the following day, with social services and the police due at No.31 to quiz everyone who lives in the property about their relationship with Lily.
Stacey informed her nearest and dearest that Lily was pregnant, but Martin Fowler (James Bye) failed to receive her messages, and he therefore only found out about Lily’s situation when the police arrived to question him.
The market trader was fuming with Stacey for withholding such information from him, but he ultimately decided to focus on Lily’s wellbeing instead.

Freddie (Bobby Brazier), meanwhile, was questioned by the police and social services but, fearing that he would be accused of something he didn’t do, he ultimately let slip that Stacey knows the identity of the father of the child.
The authorities subsequently quizzed Stacey, who confirmed that she is aware of who the baby’s dad is, but that admitted that she doesn’t feel comfortable disclosing such information given she promised Lily she’d keep shtum.

The detective, however, stated that – if she fails to reveal what she knows – then they’ll have no choice but to remove Lily from No.31, given that they cannot guarantee her safety.
Will Stacey break Lily’s trust and reveal the truth? Or will she keep the information to herself?
