What you really don’t want to do with EastEnders’ hardest hard man, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), is to get into any sort of debt with him. You don’t want to owe him money and you especially don’t want to owe him a favour, because he will call in that favour and it probably won’t be good news for you.
Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) finds himself in exactly that position in upcoming episodes, when he decides to help Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) get her job back. Chelsea was fired from Peggy’s after Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) stole £10k from the safe while Chelsea was distracted.
The money was for Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin), who demanded the sum in return for Keanu having access to his daughter Peggy.

Ravi asks Phil to give Chelsea her job back, and adds that it would be a favour to him if Phil did so. Phil’s ominous reply is that if he agrees, it’ll mean that Ravi owes him one.
Of course when Phil first met Ravi they were both in prison and Phil was offering to pay Ravi for back-up, knowing is life was in danger. He knows that Ravi’s particular skill-set leans towards menace, intimidation and violence and these talents can always come in handy in the mean streets of Walford.

When Phil finds out that Keanu is the person who stole the cash from Peggy’s, maybe Ravi could be useful in sorting out that particular problem.
