Alfie gets himself in a spot of bother! (Pictures: BBC)
Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) hatred towards Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) in EastEnders has certainly grown in the last few months.
It’s largely down to Alfie’s initial plan when he returned to Walford, as he became certain he could stop Kat (Jessie Wallace) from marrying Phil and getting back with her.
The meddling from Alfie and Sharon (Letitia Dean) caused drama for Kat and Phil and ultimately, their day ended with Kat not becoming the next Mrs Mitchell.
That aside, Alfie and Phil’s dynamic has never really been BFFs, and it looks like things will be made worse next week.
Busy looking after Bert, Ernie and Tommy (Sonny Kendall), Alfie gives them the idea of trying to work out the code to Phil’s safe.
The lads are successful and when they open the door, their eyes light up to see all of the money inside.
Later, Alfie is juggling problems at the cab office, fully aware he also needs to go shopping for Tommy’s new video game.
To add to the stress, Mitch’s (Roger Griffiths) cab breaks down so Alfie takes Vi (Gwen Taylor) to bingo, plans his trip to the shops, only to be interrupted by a masked gunman in his cab!
It becomes apparent that the gunman has just robbed a building society and demands that Alfie be his getaway driver.
