Amy continues to struggle on her own (Picture: BBC)
When Sam (Kim Medcalf) discovered that Amy (Ellie Dadd) was self-harming in EastEnders, she warned her that cutting herself could have serious consequences for her health, with infections or losing too much blood always a risk.
Amy has resorted to cutting herself after struggling with her mental health. Bullied at school over her relationship with Denzel (Jaden Ladega) and feeling isolated from her family and friends, Amy tried to cope with her mental pain by hurting herself.
As Sam predicted, this risky behaviour soon ends in serious harm as Amy is rushed to hospital.
It comes as the family wait for news about Jack (Scott Maslen)’s job. He’s currently suspended after attacking Denzel. Amy is feeling guilty because she was the one who reported the attack, but Denise (Diane Parish) tries to reassure her that everything will be fine.
Later, Jack and Denise convince Howie (Delroy Atkinson) that Amy is getting a lot of support for her mental health and he agrees that Denzel can see her again. Denzel and Amy meet in the cafe, but their discussion is interrupted by Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), who has news – Jack has been fired.
It turns out that Nugget is mistaken, but as far as Amy is concerned the damage is done. Blaming herself for what’s happened to her dad, she goes home and self harms again.
