Drivers were told to keep their car windows shut after crates holding 5million bees fell off a lorry.
The crates of bees toppled off the truck and onto the Guelph Line in Ontario around 6.15am on Wednesday.
‘Crates were literally on the road and swarms of bees were flying around,’ said Halton Regional Police constable Ryan Anderson.
‘The initial beekeeper that was on scene was apparently stung a few times.’
Cops urged drivers to close their windows as they went by and told pedestrians to stay away from the area.
‘It was quite a scene,’ Anderson said.
