A ‘gentle’ newborn donkey called Moon was stolen in broad daylight from a Hampshire farm, leaving her owner ‘devastated’.
The two-month-old foal was playing in the sunshine with her mother, Astra, on Monday afternoon when she was taken, the farm said.
Miller’s Ark, an activity farm in the village of Hook that breeds rare British farm animals, said yesterday that Moon, above all, ‘needs to be with her mum’.
‘Sadly this afternoon at Miller’s Ark little Moon has been stolen from the field,’ the farm said, adding that ‘Moon also needs her little coat on’.
‘We are completely devastated and incredibly concerned, she was only born at the beginning of March and needs to be with her mum.
‘This little donkey will be braying loudly tonight because she will be missing her mum badly. This is our chance to find her.
‘If you or anyone you know took her, please return her to the farm tonight, so she can go back with her mother who is very distressed.’

Elizabeth Miller, who founded Miller’s Ark, based on the Earl of Malmesbury’s estate, told Metro.co.uk that the entire team are ‘devastated’.
‘Moon is a very gentle little girl. Fun-loving and joyful,’ she said, adding that she relies on her mother’s milk to get by.
Astra has been ‘distressed and braying constantly’ as she calls out for her missing foal.
‘We are devastated, not only is she too young to leave mum,’ Elizabeth added, ‘but she is much loved too.’
Hampshire Constabulary is urging anyone with information to contact them.
The force said in a statement to Metro.co.uk: ‘Officers are investigating after a baby donkey was stolen from a farm in Hook.
‘The incident happened at some time between before 5pm on Monday, 15 May at Millers Ark Animals, Blackstock Lane.
‘Were you in the area yesterday? Did you see any suspicious vehicles or witness any unusual activity?
‘Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting 44230191581.’
