Dolly Parton has joined stars paying tribute to Lisa Marie Presley, following her death at the age of 54.
Presley – the only daughter of late singer Elvis Presley – died on January 12, shortly after being rushed to hospital in cardiac arrest.
Her mother, Priscilla, confirmed the ‘devastating’ news, describing her daughter in a statement as ‘the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.’
Sharing her own heartfelt words, country music icon Dolly, 76, sent her love to the grieving 77-year-old American actress.
‘Priscilla, I know how sad you must be,’ the 9 to 5 hitmaker wrote on her Instagram Story.
‘May God comfort you at this time,’ she added.

Speaking to the late Jailhouse Rock hitmaker, Dolly continued: ‘Elvis, I know how happy you must be to finally have her home and to have her back with you.’
She concluded: ‘Lisa Marie, may you rest in peace. We all love all of you.’
Dolly signed off the emotional passage with her autograph.
Elvis died on August 16, 1977 at the age of 42.
Often dubbed the King of Rock and Roll, doctors confirmed his cause of death was a heart attack, likely brought on by his addiction to prescription barbiturates.

Jolene songstress Dolly has shared anecdotes about the late Hound Dog vocalist in the past, previously expressing her guilt at having to turn him down.
In a 2021 cover story for W Magazine, Dolly shared the painful story of how she rejected him back in 1973.
Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’ manager, reportedly asked for half of Dolly’s publishing rights for I Will Always Love You in exchange for the late singer to record the song.

‘I said, “I’m sorry, but I can’t give you the publishing.” I wanted to hear Elvis sing it, and it broke my heart — I cried all night,’ Dolly recalled.
‘But I had to keep that copyright in my pocket. You have to take care of your business!’

One year after his death in 1978, Dolly was asked in an interview with Playboy if she thought there would ever be another figure like Elvis.
‘I don’t think it will be soon,’ she replied. ‘I don’t think it will be anything you and me will ever see.’
