Emmerdale’s great storm continues to rack up victims, and following the most recent episode it looks as if it’s not done claiming characters yet.

This time around it’s Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) who are feared dead among the chaos, after the high winds sent a caravan crashing into them.

The happily married couple are stronger than ever after everything that happened with Liv’s vile mum Sandra – but could their happy ending be about to turn to heartbreak, as Liv’s life hangs in the balance?

Just what is the fate of the character? Here’s what you need to know…

Does Liv die in Emmerdale and is Isobel Steele leaving?

It’s not yet been confirmed whether Liv or Vinny will die as a result of being crushed under the caravan – with Tuesday night’s episode ending on a cliffhanger.

However, Isobel Steele has been tipped to leave the soap, amid speculation that Liv could therefore be one of the victims of the catastrophic storm, currently airing as the show marks its 50th anniversary.

Reports have said that the popular character is making her exit after six years, with Isobel ‘ready to try new things.’

‘It’s been a big decision for Isobel but she’s ready to try new things,’ a source told The Sun.

‘She feels like she’s done all she can at Emmerdale and wants to focus on her music career and make a real go of it.

‘Bosses have pulled out all the stops for the 50th anniversary month and Isobel’s exit will be no different.’

‘Viewers are going to be on the edge of their seats as it all plays out and Liv is killed off,’ they added.

‘It’s a real heartbreaker, a death fans will remember for a long time to come.’

The disaster came as Liv and Vinny, who had been sheltering indoors from the storm with Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Aaron (Danny Miller), went to help Paddy, who needed a lift to the hospital and asked the couple to collect Eve.

The pair braved the ferocious winds, but were unable to escape when the caravan began rolling down the hill towards them – with Liv attempting to push Vinny out of its path before it smashed into them, with both disappearing beneath the wreckage.

Isobel discussed filming the storm recently, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘Its so much fun. I love anything to do with stunts, anything different from the normal day. It’s been really good fun.

The wind machines are huge so loud,’ she explained. ‘I’ve been given a – I’m so excited about it and its not even that exciting! – clip-on holder for my earbuds, which we all have to have on because the machines are so loud, but we cant hear what anyone is saying.’

Will this be the end for Liv? You’ll have to keep watching to find out what happens.

However, if either of them succumb they won’t be the first resident of the Dales to lose their live to the horrific storm.

So far Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) has been killed, after being crushed under a quad bike which was then struck by lightning – while Sam Dingle (James Hooton) died after being impaled on a tractor.

Emmerdale continues on Wednesday October 19 at 7.30pm on ITV.
