Dianne Buswell has proved she can see the funny side of the constant chatter about the ‘Strictly curse.’
Since the very first series, fans have watched Strictly Come Dancing to enjoy watching novice performers reach expert level, but on top of that, there are pretty much always rumours of romances taking place behind the scenes.
People falling in love is not usually a ‘curse,’ but it earnt its name as it’s not always just single celebrities who end up falling for their dance partner.
While some of the rumours have been nothing but talk, others have been grounded in truth, with several couples who met on the show remaining together to do this day.
One of the success stories is dancer Dianne, 34, and YouTube star Joe Sugg, 31. The pair were partnered together in 2018, and things turned romantic at some point. After the final Joe posted a pic of the pair and wrote: ‘I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special,’ seemingly confirming a relationship. They now live together in a pretty impressive mansion in West Sussex.

Dianne showed she was in on the ‘Strictly curse’ joke when she made an appearance on Meet the Richardsons.
The mockumentary-style programme is centred on married comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont, who play fictionalised versions of themselves.
The show will often feature celebrity cameos, who also play a fictional version of themselves.
In a recent episode, Lucy, 39, is offered the chance to take part in Strictly, leading to a discussion with Jon, 40, about it.

‘I turned it down. I’d rather not be waggling my genital in a sequin top on telly,’ said Jon.
‘I want to do that,’ Lucy quietly responded.
Jon added that he hates the ‘enforced jollity,’ before Lucy said, ‘You’d rather be with your family wouldn’t you?’ ‘I wouldn’t go that far,’ he quickly fired back.
He then stated: ‘If you value our marriage, then you’ll say no to Strictly.’
It then flashes to Dianne in a separate scene who repeated his sentiments: ‘If she values her marriage, then maybe Strictly is not for her.’
Of course, it’s unlikely this is what Dianne actually believes, and she is instead poking fun at the notion that celebrities are powerless against the curse.
The dancer previously said she doesn’t believe in the curse at all.

‘Obviously we spend so many hours with our partner but we’re professional dancers we have done this our whole lives,’ she told Heart in October 2019.
‘It’s normal for us it doesn’t mean just because you spend so much time together you’re going to end up together.’
Meet the Richardsons is available to stream on UKTV Play.
