Diane Warren has spoken out against a list of the best singers in history that failed to include her long-time collaborator Celine Dion.
Rolling Stone magazine published an updated version of their Top 200 Greatest Singers of All Time list earlier this week, with 54-year-old Celine not featuring on the list.
Aretha Franklin topped the list, with Whitney Houston and Sam Cooke following behind in second and third place.
Billie Holiday and Mariah Carey rounded out the top five while Stevie Wonder (seven) and Beyoncé (eight) also made appearances in the top 10.
Songwriter Diane, 66 – who wrote hits such as Because You Love Me and If You Asked Me To for Celine – has been left fuming by her omission from the list.
Diane took to Twitter to write: ‘One more reason these stupid ass lists don’t mean s**t. Really??? A list of greatest singers @RollingStone and #CelineDion isn’t on it??🙄’

Fans rallied to back Diane and her tweet, with one commenting: ‘Celine! One of the best singers of our generation! Even Elvis Presley didn’t make the cut. Who approved the final list?!? It must be an executive who never composed or produced a record in their life.’
A second said: ‘That’s like @Diane_Warren not making a best songwriters list.’
Another penned: ‘Once I heard Celine wasn’t on it I didn’t even bother to look at. Absurd. Is Streisand on it?’
Barbra Streisand did, indeed, make the list, being ranked at number 147.

Fans flocked to social media following the initial release of the list and the fury was fiercer than Celine’s 1998 Divas appearance.
One wrote: ‘They got THE @MichaelJackson way down at EIGHTY-SIX?! and no @CelineDion at ALL?!
‘Shoot, the way MJ sang #WithAChildsHeart when he was a CHILD makes him top three at the least and if Celine Dion isn’t in the Top Ten at the LEAST what are we really doing?!’
Another wrote: ‘Any “greatest singers” list that doesn’t include Celine Dion is simply wrong lmao there is no discussion to be had.’

The list has been released just weeks after Celine revealed her health battle with stiff-person syndrome – a rare autoimmune movement disorder that affects the central nervous system – and postponed her word tour.
Celine announced that she had been diagnosed with the syndrome on Instagram last month, as she revealed her disappointment at being forced to cancel and postpone some of her spring and summer 2023 tour dates.
