The Guardian – Defiant Houthis attack cargo ship as conflict widens in the Middle East
The Guardian says Houthi fighters based in Yemen have continued to attack cargo ships despite recent US and UK strikes to try to deter them.
It comes after US and UK strikes on Houthi positions in response to previous attacks on Red Sea shipping last week. The paper says the attack “represented a widening of the theatre of war beyond the Red Sea” and will add to fears that the strikes “have not degraded the militia group’s ability to threaten commercial shipping”.
