Liverpool are without Darwin Nunez on Monday night against Leicester City in the Premier League after the striker picked up a toe injury in training.
The Reds travelled to the King Power in a huge game in both the race for the Champions League places and the fight to avoid relegation.
However, they did so without the 23-year-old Uruguayan, who picked up a toe problem in training which doesn’t sound serious, but was enough to keep him out of action on Monday night.
Manager Jurgen Klopp explained: ‘Yesterday we trained and he looked OK but afterwards he said he felt something in his toe so we had to make a decision.’
Nunez has travelled to the match with the rest of the squad as he was keen to support them in the big match as they try and hunt down a top four place.
Klopp’s side are fifth in the Premier League table and go into the match with Leicester four points behind Manchester United in fourth, however, a victory would pile pressure on the Red Devils as they look to hold onto their coveted spot.
Nunez, like Liverpool, has had something of a mixed season, scoring a health 15 goals in all competitions, with nine of those coming in the Premier League.
Leicester do not have Champions League football on their minds going into this one, but only trying to stay in the Premier League as they start the match 19th in the table, two points adrift of safety.
It has been a dreadful run of form for the Foxes, winning just one of their last 13 Premier League matches.
Defending has been their biggest issue, with the former Premier League champions failing to keep a clean sheet in the top flight since November.
