All alone, will Amelia and her baby survive? (Picture: ITV/Metro.co.uk)
The epic Emmerdale 50th anniversary week will include a wedding, at least one death, but also a birth as Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) goes into labour during the massive storm that brings terror and havoc to the village.
Trapped and alone, the youngster fears the worst; but thankfully a helping hand eventually comes her way.
Daisy has told Metro.co.uk that the wind machines and other effects used to produce the storm felt absolutely real.
‘It felt really intense and I really love filming intense stuff because it gives you more adrenaline,’ she told us.
‘I actually felt like I was in a storm, it sounded and felt like you were actually in a storm. It was absolutely crazy.’
Amelia has left the village to meet Noah (Jack Downham), who is working at Riley’s Farm with Marcus (Darcy Grey), for a picnic. She’s all alone when she’s suddenly hit by a wave of pain.

‘She’s confused when she goes into labour because she doesn’t really know what it is at first,’ Daisy explained.
At the same time the wind is starting to get dangerously strong and she knows she needs shelter and heads for a barn.
‘The weather changes completely. Then the worst storm ever hits and it all goes downhill from there, really.’
Unable to get a signal on her phone, Amelia panics that she has no help. She doesn’t realise it, but people are already out looking for her, including Kim (Claire King) on horseback and Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) riding a quad bike – but it’s the baby’s grandmother, Lydia (Karen Blick), who finds her first.

‘When Lydia comes it’s just a sigh of relief,’ Daisy continued.
‘At first she thinks it’s her dad, but it’s Lydia and they’ve bonded a little bit more over her having this baby and Samson (Sam Hall) not wanting to be part of it.
‘It’s such a sigh of relief to have Lydia there and she feels a lot better when she’s got some support.’
But with the wind tearing at the structure of the barn, will Lydia’s presence be enough to keep Amelia – and her baby – safe?
