Daesh claims responsibility for UK Knife attack
Arab News says Daesh has claimed responsibility for the knife attack that injured three people in Streatham, south London on Sunday.
“The perpetrator of the attack in Streatham district in south London yesterday is a fighter of Islamic State (Daesh), and carried out the attack in response to calls to attack the citizens of coalition countries,” said a statement carried by Amaq – a news outlet linked to the group. There was no evidence provided to support their claim.
Sunday’s knife attack echoes the tragedy on the November 2019 London Bridge attack in which two people were killed. The November attack was also claimed by Daesh.
Sudesh Amman, 20, was shot dead by the police at the scene. Police say he was wearing a hoax suicide vest.

Iran ends cooperation with Ukraine on the plane crash probe
Fox News reports Iran has stopped cooperating with Ukraine in its investigation of a Ukrainian jetliner that crashed last month.
Iran has abruptly ended its cooperation following the release of an audio clip that suggested Tehran knew its missiles brought the passenger plane down.
The clip was broadcasted by Ukrainian media on Sunday and listeners heard the exchange between the pilot of an Iran Aseman Airlines flight and air traffic control.
The pilot says he saw flashing lights in the sky, suggesting it could be missile fire, the Wall Street Journal reported. Iran initially denied responsibility for bringing down the plane.

RT News says the death toll from the coronavirus has drastically risen to 427, with over 20,000 cases worldwide. WHO has urged for preparedness instead of panic and the US called the spread “explosive and unprecedented.”
Another 2,345 cases were confirmed in Hubei on Tuesday as the coronavirus passed the scale of the SARS outbreak in the early 2000s.
All of the confirmed deaths, but one, occurred in mainland China. The additional death was in the Philippines involving a Chinese national who travelled from Wuhan.

Iowa caucus results delayed by ‘inconsistencies’
BBC News reports results from Iowa’s caucuses, the first vote in the race to pick a Democratic White House candidate to face President Trump, has been plunged into chaos by apparent technology issues.
The state’s Democratic Party said it had found “inconsistencies.”
But made clear the unprecedented holdup was a “reporting issue” and a “hack or an intrusion.”
The candidates are competing to win the opening contest of the 2020 White House campaign and become the Democratic nominee who will challenge Republican Trump in the 3 November election.

French police shoot knife assailant who entered a police station in eastern France
France24 says police shot and wounded a man armed with a knife after he attacked officers inside a police barracks in eastern France on Monday.
Police were reportedly given a warning that an atrocity was to be committed in the name of Islamic State just before the knifeman struck the police facility in Dieuze.
“We must relate the facts to a call received by the operational centre of the gendarmerie shortly before, in which an individual declared that he was a soldier, that there was going to be carnage in Dieuze and that he was a member of Islamic State,” prosecutor Christian Mercuri was quoted as telling a news conference in the area.
Several hours after the attack, there had been no claims of responsibility.

Sky News says Liam Gallager claims Oasis was offered £100m for a reunion tour but his brother Noel turned down the idea.
The brothers parted in 2009 but Liam has made it clear he wants the band to get back together. Something Noel doesn’t seem to want.
Liam tweeted: “We’ve been offered 100 million pounds for a tour still not enough for the greedy soul oh well stay young LG.”
Minutes earlier he had written: “Wahey we’re getting back together” and that “rich as f***” Noel was “doing it for nothing” while Liam being “desperate” is doing it for the cash.
