A dad who was left confused after finding scratches on his car bonnet found out to his surprise it was his seven-year-old son clearing snow with a shovel.
Humphrey Grimmett, 46, installed CCTV at his High Wycombe home to try and catch the culprit.
While the damage will cost a whopping £1,000, the dad is somewhat glad the mystery person turned out to be his own son.
He said: ‘It wasn’t until Wednesday that I saw the scratches – they’re absolutely terrible, massive scrapes.
‘I checked the cameras to see what happened and there my son was using a shovel he found outside from building work we were doing to get the snow off.
‘When he got home from school I asked him, if he knew why there were so many scratches on daddy’s car, and when he said no I asked whether he’d been taking snow off of it.
The seven-year-old eventually confessed (Picture: Humphrey Grimmet/SWNS)
‘He looked at me with his big blue eyes and said “yes”, and when I asked why he did it with a shovel he said he thought it would be satisfying. Bless him.
‘The ironic thing is that the car wasn’t even going anywhere – he just wanted to help out.’
It wasn’t just humans who were out and about in the recent snow which piled up across the UK.
Gorillas at London Zoo built their own snowman and chucked frozen balls at each other as they embraced the cold snap.
The huge hairy silverbacks didn’t need to put an extra layer on despite it being minus one in the capital.
