Crystal Palace will reportedly make another attempt to re-sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher this January transfer window.
Gallagher enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at Selhurst Park last season, scoring eight goals and making five assists, and helping the Eagles reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
He was named Crystal Palace Player of the Year and was nominated for the PFA’s Young Player of the Year award, whilst he also became an England international which led to him going to the 2022 World Cup.
Chelsea fans had hoped that upon returning to Stamford Bridge last summer, Gallagher would be able to play a huge role in the Blues’ side, but so far that has not been the case.
The 22-year-old has started just nine games in all competitions this season and has struggled to get going under Graham Potter, scoring just one goal, ironically a late winner against Palace, and making one assist so far.
While Gallagher has a string affinity for his boyhood club, Chelsea at the moment does not appear to be the place for him, and it is now said that Palace are looking to take advantage of that.
According to The Sun, Patrick Vieira’s side will launch a fresh move for the midfielder having made enquiries into re-signing him last summer.

Palace are looking into bringing in some reinforcements this month off the back of their awful form since the end of the World Cup break.
The Eagles have lost three of their four games since the season resumed, including a 4-0 thrashing by Tottenham and a 3-0 defeat to Fulham – both of which were at home.
While they have played some good football this season, and are currently 12th in the table, the South London side have undeniably lacked the energy and drive that Gallagher provided them with.
Gallagher is valued at around £30million, which Palace should be able to afford but it remains to be seen whether the player is interested in leaving and whether Chelsea will sell given they could become very short of centre-midfield options, with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante out of contract in the summer.
This all comes as Chelsea prepare to host Palace on Sunday and with Graham Potter’s side looking to turn around their terrible run of form that has seen them lose seven of their last nine matches.
Should Palace triumph, they will remarkably go level on points with their London rivals.
