BREAKING: Police officer shot dead at Croydon police station in south London.
A police officer has been shot dead by a suspect being booked into custody at a south London police station today.
The custody sergeant was killed and the suspect then turned the gun on themselves, according to Standard newspaper sources.
The prisoner was being booked in for possession of ammunition at around 2 am, it is believed.
