When 5ft tall Brooke Dostillo matched with a basketball player on Tinder, she knew he’d be tall – but she wasn’t quite prepared for just how big their height difference would be.
Her now boyfriend, Dylan Painter, stands at 6ft 10in, towering over his petite girlfriend.
Brooke, 26, said: ‘I knew he was on basketball team, but I didn’t know how tall he really was, and he didn’t know how short I was.
‘It’s hard to visual it until you see it for yourself.
‘But for me everyone is tall anyway, and Dylan thinks everyone is small.’
Brooke and Dylan met whilst at university on the dating app Tinder, so didn’t realise the height difference until they met in person.
And when it was time to introducing each other to their families, they gave their loved ones a warning.
Brooke adds: ‘My family were really excited to meet Dylan and they really liked him when they met. We gave our families warnings about the height differences.’
And after receiving so many comments about their height, the couple decided to take their life online. They document their life on social media, showing the day-to-day reality of being together.
Brooke said: ‘People make comments about our height just walking down the street, as well as our friends and families.
‘The comments would be things such as “how does that work”, “omg you’re so tall and short”.’
But still, Brooke didn’t realise they’d become so popular online.
She said: ‘I never thought it would go this big, I always joked saying we could blow up on the internet and Dylan didn’t believe me.’

Speaking of some of their struggles, Brooke said: ‘Dylan wasn’t able to fit well in my old car as it was quite small, but we have adapted and we now share a bigger car.
‘He also doesn’t fit well on airplanes so he will always sit in the emergency exit row or the bigger leg room seats.’
Being so open about their lives, the couple laugh at their height difference and compare their clothing sizes.

Brooke also never has to worry about not being able to reach the top shelf with Dylan around.
‘It’s great when Dylan can reach things for me in the shops and in the kitchen.
‘He is pretty easy going, he is used to getting comments from people, but I wasn’t used to it, so getting these comments is something new to me that I had to adjust to.’
