WWE legend Dwayne Johnson – AKA The Rock
WWE fans are desperate see Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson back in the ring and some new merchandise has given everyone some hope.
The People’s Champion, who has become one of the biggest movie stars in the world after swapping wrestling for Hollywood, hasn’t appeared live for the company in over three years, but there are rumours a return could be on the cards for the Royal Rumble.
There have been plenty of reports suggesting The Rock could make a comeback to face his cousin Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 39, and things are heating up.
Eagle eyed fans spotted what appears to be some new merchandise on WWE’s official online store, and fans think the timing is very interesting given all the speculation.
Others noticed a new t-shirt being advertised for the Royal Rumble superstore, which is coming to San Antonio, Texas next weekend.
The design features a pair of longhorns, which fans have instantly tied to The Rock given his tattoo and subsequent Brahma Bull nickname – although there’s also the Texas connection.
Still, it’s not stopping people go wild wondering if he could appear in his first Rumble match since 2001.
Nothing is confirmed, but there has also been speculation The Rock could turn up on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw after The Bloodline announced an ‘acknowledgement ceremony’ in honour of Roman Reigns.
Dwayne’s cousin is on a legendary run as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, and his family have promised that ‘every generation’ of the Bloodline will be represented during Raw XXX, which also marks the show’s 30th anniversary.

Fans are more excited at the prospect of Rock – a definite part of the family – making an appearance to confront Roman, which could put plans in motion for a potential historic match.
‘They literally said every generation of the bloodline. Rock is part of the bloodline,’ pointed out own viewer, while another asked: ‘Every generation of the Bloodline next week? Is Rock showing up to RAW XXX?’
And earlier this month, a poster for the Royal Rumble – which is fast approaching on January 28 – also got everyone talking.
The picture is doing the rounds on social media, and fans think the lightning bolts could be there to tease The Rock, given one of his nicknames is The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment.
The imagery certainly fits and has prompted people to wonder if Dwayne could appear at the Rumble – or even enter the iconic 30-man match – and confront his cousin.
WWE Raw XXX airs Monday night (January 23) at 1am on BT Sport 1. The Royal Rumble airs January 28, also at 1am, on the WWE Network.
