It feels like Stephen’s Coronation Street killing spree has only just begun, but actor Todd Boyce is already teasing the ending.
Luckily for us, it seems as though there is a while to go before Stephen calls it quits on his murderous ways.
According to the actor, Stephen’s story is set to continue until the end of 2023.
‘Iain [MacLeod, producer] was talking about maybe the end of next year,’ Todd told us in December.
It seems as though Stephen’s crimes are a big topic of conversation on set, as well as among audiences.
‘Crew members are saying their husbands are saying “when are they gonna find him out?”, Todd explained.
‘You’re impatient for the murderer to be found out so the tease is just to stretch that out and maybe get back to some normality and think “how dare he?”‘.

And it’s not just the families of the crew who want to know, as cast members are fearing for the lives of their characters, with another serial killer in their midst.
‘What is quite wonderful is Iain and the writers, I think I’ve had a scene with probably every main character on the street, which makes them all terrified, I’m sure, they know to stay away from me.
‘But if I get asked one more time – repeatedly, by the same people – “so how long are you gonna be in the show?”. I’ve had people ask me three or four times, the same person, because they want to know how long they’ve got to be worried for.
‘They’re just sweating it, they just really are. And then there are rumours about people that I don’t think I would kill, I’m being told ‘I think you’re gonna kill that person’, I’m like “are you sure?”. They’re nervy.’
With Stephen’s story set to last for the rest of the year, it certainly sounds like the cast are right to worry.
Who else is on Stephen’s hit list? Is anyone truly safe?
