A goodbye – but for how long? (Pictures: ITV)
Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) has succeeded in his mission to bring down Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) and his gang in Coronation Street as tonight, the leader was arrested.
This week, the Weatherfield residents were put in danger when Max (Paddy Bever) realised Griff had planted a bomb in the Speed Daal van.
As people rushed to safety, Alya (Sair Khan) decided to drive the van to a clear ground.
She was successful but because there was a timer on the device, the van exploded, throwing Alya to the ground as she escaped to safety.
At the end of the episode, the residents were informed that Griff hadn’t been arrested and tonight, he snuck into the Platt household to talk to Max.
Max was fearful during the conversation with the gang leader. Griff tried to make Max think that he had been nothing but good to him, so the least he could do is save him from a stretch behind bars.

As things descended into an argument, Daryan (Twana Omer) arrived at the door and overheard shouting.
He informed David (Jack P Shepherd) and that was overheard by Alya, who called Spider – and he brought back up with him.
As Griff was bundled into a police car, characters impacted by his racist and vile views watched on, but they couldn’t help expressing their opinions on Max, too.
Some believed that he hadn’t done anything wrong, while others thought he was just as bad as Griff.
With all eyes on Max still, it’s goodbye to Griff for now, as a Coronation Street spokesperson has confirmed to Metro.co.uk that he will return.
But will we see him again?
