Coronation Street’s tough extremism storyline has taken a new turn in tonight’s episode, as Speed Daal was subject to vandalism from a member of Griff’s gang.
As Alya (Sair Khan) locked up Speed Daal for the night, who should come crawling out of the shadows but a hooded figure, armed with a bucket of red paint.
Throwing the paint over the front door, the mystery assailant retreated back into the shadows, before whipping out a phone to inform Griff (Gareth Pierce) that the damage has been done.
It is quickly revealed that the vandal is actually Spider (Martin Hancock)!
Viewers will know that Spider is working as an undercover police officer, trying to bring down the extremist group.
But will his actions have pulled him in too deeply and end up getting him in trouble too?

The gang has also managed to lure in Max Turner (Paddy Bever), having been drafted in by new girlfriend, Lauren (Shannon Flynn).
The grooming Max has experienced at the hands of this extremist gang has ruined the friendship he had developed with young asylum seeker Daryan (Twana Omer).
Will Max see the error of his ways or will Griff’s extremist group continue to pose a threat to the street?
