Isabella wasn’t very good at getting the message (Pictures: ITV)
Brian Packham (Peter Gunn), Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) and well, just about everyone else in Weatherfield, were secretly thrilled to see the back of Isabella in Friday’s (July 21) Coronation Street.
Brian returned to the cobbles this week after time away with his cousin. If you’ve been living under a rock, Isabella and Brian met when she travelled to Weatherfield all the way from Naples.
Initially, Brian enjoyed getting to know Isabella and partaking in her Italian lifestyle, but it then became apparent that she was actually incredibly annoying.

Topic of conversation in the pub on Monday was the prospect of getting rid of Isabella. Brian admitted that while he was on holiday, things got so bad that he debated recreating the story of John Darwin, which saw him attempt to fake his own death by heading out to sea in a canoe and never returning.
Mary told Brian that actually, instead of pretending he had died, he should probably just admit to Isabella that she’s outstayed her welcome.

Fortunately, she got the message in the end and tonight, Isabella said her goodbyes to Mary, Brian and Sean (Antony Cotton).
As she hopped into a taxi ready to return, Brian and Mary were glad to see she had finally gone.
