Is the honeymoon over already? (Picture: ITV)
They may have only just got married, but Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs may be heading for a split already, as Jennie McAlpine exits Coronation Street for her maternity leave.
Jennie revealed she discovered she is pregnant while on a camping trip with her loved ones.
The actress currently shares two children – Albert, eight and Hilda, four – with partner Chris Farr.
But what does this mean for newlyweds Fiz and Tyrone?
While they seem loved up now, daughter Hope continues to cause problems due to her obsession with her serial killer dad John.
Could this pressure drive them apart and cause Fiz to take some time away from the show?
Of course, this is not the only option – previous breaks for Jennie saw her take Hope across the country for counselling and visit mum Cilla, who had been injured.
Discussing the immediate future for the couple, show boss Iain MacLeod teased: ‘There’s a lovely bit where Fiz and Tyrone feel a bit like they’re sleepwalking back into the staleness that led Ty to stray, so they decide to reignite the romantic side of their relationship.

‘That all goes horrendously wrong thanks to advice from Sally. Her and Tim’s dressing up box features, but it’s really funny and has Evelyn in the middle, who is funny all the time.’
That said, he delivered a warning about Hope too.
‘Hope develops a toxic curiosity about John that leads to fairly interesting blackly comedic territory,’ he continued. ‘She becomes slightly obsessed in a way that causes problems for Fiz and Tyrone.
‘They’ll face some difficulty parenting Hope going forward. Without giving too much away, Hope’s troubled behaviour ends up in a fairly acrimonious feud with an adult neighbour that involves a chinchilla!
‘Hope’s behaviour will become increasingly difficult over the course of the year but there’s also extremely light-hearted bits.’
Okay, we can latch on to light-hearted.

Discussing her pregnancy discovery, Jennie said that she won’t be finding out the gender in advance but shared the delight she and Chris are feeling.
‘It just feels really nice. We’re so over the moon’, the star told OK! Magazine.
‘The thought of adding to our family mix and chaos was the best Christmas present! I’m really excited for 2023 – it’ll be a special one.’
And she isn’t the only one set to be stepping away from the cobbles for maternity leave.
Julia Goulding is expected to have her last scenes as Shona Ramsay for some time as early as this week, as Lily gets a place on a football course.
