Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) actions return to haunt him in Coronation Street as he’s met with members of Rufus Donohue’s (Steven Meo) family.
Rufus was murdered by Stephen a few months ago. The businessman had worked out that Stephen was drugging Carla (Alison King) with LSD and so history repeated itself, with Stephen believing he had to kill Rufus to prevent the truth about him being revealed.
Stephen drowned Rufus in the swimming pool at his home. He believed that the matter had been dealt with as word got round that the businessman died in a tragic accident, but the arrival of Rufus’ wife Lou, and his son Jools, is going to change everything.
Michael (Ryan Russell), Carla (Alison King) and Stephen decide to attend Rufus’ memorial but are all surprised when they realise the place is practically empty.

As they discuss the fact Rufus didn’t have many close family members, Stephen is shocked when a teenager asks how he knew his dad.

Clearly feeling guilty by the fact his actions caused a young boy to lose his father, Stephen will have even more to worry about later in the week, when Lou pops into Underworld and expresses her thoughts on Rufus’ death, convinced that something doesn’t add up.
