It’s getting to Christmas on the cobbles as Coronation Street begins filming the 2022 festive episodes.
Photos from the set have emerged showing the iconic street lit up in strings of multicoloured lights as fans eagerly await this year’s Christmas ep.
The ITV show is known for its explosive festive episodes, and 2022 is no different, with spoilers appearing to suggest that Summer is preparing to sell her baby to Esther and Mike.
Previous photos taken from the set sees the teenager show up to Mike and Esther’s door, having previously decided to abort the foetus, but it seems she may change her mind in an upcoming episode.
Fans were quick to notice the Christmas wreath hanging on the older couple’s door, meaning this year’s festive episodes are guaranteed to be full of dramatics.
Now Corrie viewers have been given a first look at the fictional Manchester town done up for Chrimbo, with a brand new Christmas market and fairy lights among the new arrivals.

As the soap begins filming episodes to air in the coming weeks, colourful street lights have been set up along a row of houses, while a huge Christmas tree can be seen in the middle of the set.
A new Christmas market can also be seen in the aerial view of the set, with several mini stalls where the Corrie natives can shop and natter.
Summer actress Harriet Bibby previously spoke about her character’s crisis pregnancy storyline, with the teenager discovering she was expecting in October.

‘I think her first reaction is not a great one,’ Harriet said at the time of the plot development.
‘It’s not happy. It’s not what you’d want to feel when you first find out that you’re pregnant.
‘I think she suddenly goes into panic mode, Summer is the type of person who risk assesses everything and thinks of the worst case scenario.

‘And I think that is what she’s done when she’s found out she’s pregnant. They’re not ready as a couple, and she’s not ready. She’s got her own issues to deal with.’
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
