Stephen took his opportunity to tell the perfect lie (Picture: ITV)
Stephen (Todd Boyce) thought he was on a lucky one in tonight’s Coronation Street, as he saw in the New Year with Elaine (Paula Wilcox) by his side.
The killer’s first bit of good news was £10k arriving in his account, following a settlement from Six Fellas, after he was injured by crashing one of their mopeds.
He was then further thrilled by the news that Teddy’s (Grant Burgin) condition had gotten worse.
Taking his opportunity with both hands, he sat a heart broken Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) down and told her a whopping great fib: that Teddy had seen Leo in Canada and he wanted nothing to do with either of them ever again.
Of course, viewers will know that Stephen was actually responsible for Leo’s death, and has since been trying his best to keep it covered up.

However, before his accident, Teddy was onto him, suggesting he knew more than he was letting on about Leo’s whereabouts.
At the end of tonight’s episode, Coronation Street dropped a massive hint that Stephen is set to kill again, as Teddy woke up from his coma.

With Stephen having already spun a web of lies, and cancelled the flight that was going to take him away from Weatherfield, we’re almost certain that the news of Teddy’s recovery will throw a spanner into the works.
We’ve already seen Stephen attempt to turn off Teddy’s life support, and now that he’s finally got things back on track, how far will he go to keep it that way?
Is Teddy set to be Stephen’s next victim?
