Financial Times – ‘Historic’ Cop28 deal cites shifting away from fossil fuels for first time 

The Financial Times splashes on the climate deal reached at COP28 which has mentioned a desire to shift away from fossil fuels for the first time. 

The paper says for the first time” countries have “reached a deal to transition away from fossil fuels in an attempt to reach global net zero emissions by 2050”, but notes that 39 small island nations “complained” the deal was “pushed through without their support”.

The front page also reports that Ukrainian president Zelensky is ‘on the hunt’ for more funds as winter draws in.
