When it comes to a first date, picking the right venue is essential for starting things off on the right foot.
And there are just a few locations that are a complete no-no.
Getting to know each other over a McSpicy, large fries and a coke isn’t exactly the most romantic setting.
It seems most women agree too. A list shared by @DuvalPromo on Instagram shared the top 28 venues us ladies do not want to endure a first date at.
At the top of the list was Cheesecake Factory — yes, very American we know — but for those of us Brits, we’re likening it to Baskin Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts.
It’s no surprise that fast food chains account for the top five worst first date spots.

Applebee’s ranked second, of which the UK equivalent is Harvester, while Chili’s, likened to Nando’s or KFC, placed third.
Chipotle and Olive Garden ranked fourth and fifth respectively but in at number six is a change of scenery.
The movies was ranked the sixth worst date spot and we kind of agree. A first date should involve chatting and getting to know each other rather than watching a movie in silence.
Another run of fast food chains follows the popcorn and film fiasco, but placing at 15th is the gym.
Getting sweaty and talking about your life goals between dead lifts doesn’t exactly leave much room for a first kiss.
The 16th worst date venue was church while Starbucks and coffee dates followed.
Personally we think a coffee date in a cute bookshop is fulfilling our Rom-com fantasies, but each to their own.
Family functions are another big no-no, while Netflix and chill was sending the wrong message.
Bowling was ranked a bad first date venue but we disagree (picture: Getty Images)
It seems some have a problem with bars for drinks and bowling — both of which we think a perfectly respectable and common first date venue choices.
But it’s not just those of us here at Metro that have some strong opinions, the internet had a lot to say too.
One person wrote: ‘What’s wrong with the Cheesecake Factory, can someone explain this?’

Another said: ‘Tf he supposed to take y’all? Jamaica?’
Others queried what there actually was left to do for a first date if all 28 venues were a no. One said: ‘Guess we’re just staring at each other then,’ while another joked: ‘So y’all want to go to the moon or something?’
People seemed particularly upset about church, with plenty of women weighing in saying they’d love to go to church.
‘Would have been easier to name the places they would go, list would have been shorter,’ one commenter quipped.
Celebrities even began to weigh in, with LL Cool J sharing his Wednesday plans were to go Cheesecake Factory, and Chris Brown posted a gif saying: ‘Get to stepping.’
The list follows a video that went viral last week when a woman wouldn’t get out of the car because her date took her to the Cheesecake Factory.
In the video, she says to her date: ‘This is a chain restaurant. Who takes someone who looks like this to a chain restaurant? A woman should be cared for and cherished.’
The man said: ‘I went into this date with the expectations for myself to keep you safe, to respect you, to pay for your food, of course.’
